Son-in-law of Viola MacLeod. Brother-in-law of Nancy (Robert) Boynton, Jacquelyn (Richard) Warren, Dawn (Robert) Elam and Christine (Thomas) Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Albes Rose Mahlebashian.

Dan grew up in Detroit and graduated from Bishop Borgess High School. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Central Michigan University. Dan started his career at Florists’ Transworld Delivery Association (FTD) and was involved in many aspects of the business. After many years with FTD, Dan moved to Borders Group, Inc. where he was responsible for Financial Planning and Analysis before joining Beautiful Island (a start-up dot.com business).
