Malkon Margosian
b. 17 Dec 1929 – d. 6 Mar 2021
Malkon was born in Detroit Michigan to Shoushan and Garabed Margosian on December 17, 1929. He is perhaps best known for having a larger than life smile and personality, beloved by all. Malkon was always quick to lend a hand to his friends and family, and even to strangers, often donating time and earnings to various charitable organizations and fundraisers. He had a giving heart and a sharp mind.
Malkon loved to play and watch sports, especially with his family. He played baseball as a young man, and was a professional bowler and avid golfer. When he wasn’t watching or playing sports, you could find him with friends at the racetrack or enjoying his daily walks and coffee meet-ups with his friends. Malkon enjoyed cooking, and the older he got, he enjoyed “trying” to cook.
Some of the things he will be remembered for most fondly, are his love for travel, language, and culture – the way he could talk to anyone in a room, and the delightful way he could capture an audience with his stories or jokes. Those closest to him also understand how supportive he was and always had a knack for providing sound advice and judgment in any circumstance. Malkon always encouraged those around him to become their best and reach their full potential.
Above all else, Malkon was a deeply devoted family man. He never missed a milestone or life moment for his children, Susan and Charles, or his grand-children, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandson. He was a doting husband who enjoyed celebrating his wife Rose’s professional accomplishments and life achievements. Their love and mutual respect over a lifetime will be remembered and cherished by all as an example of everlasting friendship and undying love. Malkon loved his Rosie more than anything in the world, and while his family will miss him dearly, they are comforted in knowing he is reunited in heaven with his “Darling Wife”, and loved ones who preceded him.
Beloved husband of the late Rose.
Loving father of Susan and Charles.
Cherished grandfather of 7, great-grandfather of 14 and great-great-grandfather of 1.
Malkon will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Garabed and Shoushan and his brother Margos.
