Obituary for Vergil (Vic) Coman

Vergil (Vic) Coman age 89 was born on May 23, 1930 to Romanian parents.
Vergil and Kit met at Commerce High School in Detroit. They were high school sweethearts. Vic coined the name Kitten and after that her nickname became Kit. Vic enlisted in the Navy to serve in the Korean War. After the war they went their separate ways.

Vic married his 1st wife and had three children. After the passing of Vic's 1st wife, Vic and Kit reunited and found their long lost love. Just like teenagers they would talk on the phone for hours, nobody was aloud to take calls from 10:00 P.M -12:00 midnight. When asked what they talked about Kit’s response was “oh nothing".

To describe what kind of respect and love he had for Kit, he asked permission to her three daughters to marry their mother.

Vic and Kit married on July 25, 1981, and he gained three daughters, Terri, Tammi, and Tracy.
They celebrated 38 years of marriage and 70 years of knowing each other. A true fairy tale romance from the age of 16 to 89! It was often said they were Hollywood Movie Stars - Tony Curtis and Linda Darnell, to use they absolutely were! The bond Vic & Kit shared is priceless, many fond memories that will be cherished forever.

They built their lives over the years with travel, cookouts, sporting events, birthday celebrations and family functions.

Vic was a remarkable and loving husband, exceptional stepfather, wonderful, generous and kind grandfather to nine grandchildren. Vic loved to attend the grandkids sporting events, always their biggest fan.

Vic loved his beers, fruits & vegetables and his long list of vitamins. He was always researching and discovery natural vitamins to keep a healthy vigorous life. One of his favorite past times was going to the grocery store, Kit would go crazy because he would spend hours picking out his fruit. But never fail, he always bought enough fruit to pass onto everyone. Blueberry picking was always a summer outing, they would freeze the blueberries and Kit would make blueberry pie all year long.

Vic enjoyed spending time at the cottage on Elk Lake. It was a labor of love, even though the cottage was never quite finished it didn’t stop the fun. All the kids learned how to play Euchre, drive a car and swim. Vic never failed to make us laugh with his constant comical ways. A tradition was stopping for donuts/bagels and then ice cream on the way home.

Vic was not a stepfather but a true father figure. It was an honor for Vic to walk the girls down the aisle when we got married and dancing the father / daughter dance. Vic was compassionate and friendly to everybody, welcoming him into his home. If you had the privilege to meet Vic you would agree he was a Great Man!

Vic was a kind caring spirit, always positive and uplifting. A smile and sparkle in his blue eyes, he will be forever in our hearts and will honor his life through loving him. God Rest in Peace.

We Love you Internally.
