Bill was born in Davenport, Iowa on March 11, 1958 to parents William Carlin Jr. and Ruthmary Mangelsdorf. His youth was filled with fun and travel together with his father and sister, Leslie. In 1968 they settled in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Life was good, and then at the age of 19, it got even better. That was the year Bill's life became complete. The year he met Vicki. They were married in 1982, and four years later they began welcoming their beautiful daughters, Alexandria, Tahlene, and Melanie. Although Bill took great pride in taking care of the four ladies in his life, always ensuring they were happy and safe, he was more than happy to share that role when he welcomed son-in-law, Dan, into his family last August. Throughout his life he was diligent and hardworking, and this was evident for the past 18 years through his success as the founder and owner of American Diabetic Supply, where his loyal clients admired him for his personal and professional approach to business. While work was always a priority for Bill, he loved to travel, the hydroplanes, car racing, and rock and roll. But of all things in life, Bill found his true happiness spending time with Vicki and his girls, with Vicki's big, loving family, and the summers and Christmas visits he shared with his father. For him, family was everything. Bill loved life on so many levels. He always brought a smile with him, and he will be remembered for his love, kindness and friendship. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13
