Visitation Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church. Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park 35667 Eight Mile Road, Livonia.

Ara Vorsganian was born on February 1, 1934 in Nicosia, Cyprus to Sarkis Vorsganian and Marie Tellalian.
Ara Vorsganian began his career as a concert artist at the early age of ten, with a solo performance at the June 1944 Armenian Club Concert in Nicosia, Cyprus. In 1951, he won a scholarship to further continue his studies at the Boston Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA.
He took a year's course in Boston where he studied violin with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. So successful were his studies that he was 1 of 4 winners of the Steinway Youth Competition and played in Steinway Hall.
In 1954, the Royal Academy of Music awarded him the Poulett Scholarship for violin. He followed his studies in London at Guildhall School of Music, where he graduated with honors, and was awarded Performer's Diploma in both violin and piano. He returned to Cyprus in 1956, where he maintained an active schedule as a violinist and teacher and as the Leader of the CBC Orchestra. He gave violin recitals both In Greece and Cyprus and was the conductor of the English School Symphony Orchestra for 34 years.
In 1971 he represented Cyprus as a first violinist in a series of concerts given by the World Symphony Orchestra in the USA. He took part in the inauguration of Disney World in Orlando, FL and performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
In 1977, he married Sara Baylouzian, from Anjar Lebanon, and was blessed with three children, Maral, Ani, and Daron. He was then blessed with 4 grandchildren, Nayiri, Talar, Helen Sara, and Nora.
On July 22, 2020, Ara entered his eternal rest with his family by his side.
