Ardem Damlama, age 90, passed away peacefully into eternal life with her loving family at her side. Ardem was the beloved wife of Barur for 62 years, devoted mother to Meri and Suzi, doting mother-in-law to Chris and Bedros, adoring grandmother to Matthew, Michael, Justin, and Kristen. Ardem joined her loved ones in heaven on April 15, 2021. She leaves behind her loving husband, daughters, sons-in law, grandchildren, nephews, sister-in-law, and many friends.
Ardem's life was a living example of John 13:34 "love one another as I have loved you". With a generous heart filled with self-giving love, gentleness, humility and patience, her beautiful smile, kind words of encouragement and comfort, she permeated love onto others. She was our pillar of strength.
Ardem lived in Istanbul, Turkey until she immigrated to the United States. She loved her adopted country just as much as the country of her ancestors. She was passionate about life and treasured every moment with her children and grandchildren; she loved opera and musicals, movies, dancing, playing cards, knitting, traveling, political debates, and reading a good love story. She was a master cook and put a shot of love in every dish as often as possible but also enjoyed eating out, as often as possible.
She will be dearly missed but we find solace in her memories and beautiful angelic smile. May she rest in peace in our heavenly Father's arms in the company of the angels and saints.
