Dolores Mae Boerkoel Age 83 passed away on January 23, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Henry Douglas Boerkoel. Loving mother of Douglas (Ruth Ann) and Robert (the late Kristen) of Mt. Holly, N.C. Cherished grandmother of Mark, Samantha (Tim), Bobby and great-grandmother of Tyler. Dolores loved traveling with her husband, Hank. She enjoyed singing in the choir at her church, flowers and gardening, crocheting at the Rose Center, and reading of all sorts. Her granddaughter Samantha said, "As a young child, I remember learning how to spell our family's last name from grandma. We had a huge book of blank paper and she would help me write it out and practice memorizing the spelling."
