Edgar Griffith Streten, April 8, 1929, to June 9, 2022
Edgar passed away peacefully in Alma, Michigan, at Masonic Pathways after a brief illness. He is gone to be with God, with his beloved Betty Mae, and with his family. He is given new life in Christ, restored vision, and has found the blissful commendation of God for his faithfulness. Edgar is predeceased by wife of 48 years, Betty Mae (Brown), his parents, Edgar H. and Grace E. Streten, his younger brother, Robert Ralph, and sister and brother in law, Shirley and Doug Aldrich. He is survived by his daughters Katherine Charbeneau and Susan (Robyn) Cavender, his grandchildren Grace (Evan) and Brandon, special daughter Andrea Grimes, nephew Donald Aldrich, and niece Susan (Rufus Plaisted) Aldrich. Edgar lived in Beverly Hills, Michigan, for 70 years before moving full time to the home he built with Betty in Lake George, Michigan, where he remained until 2021. Edgar worked for Detroit Edison all his professional life as an electrical engineer, and was devoted to his family, his church, and his Masonic life. Arrangements are taken care of by the Edward Korkoian Funeral Home in Royal Oak, Michigan; visitation there from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 25. Memorial service with Masonic and Eastern Star honoring is at Sanctuary Birmingham 300 Willits Street, Birmingham, on June 26 at 2 p.m. Earthly Resting Place is Sand Creek Cemetery, Sand Creek, Michigan. Donations may be made to the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation or WCMU public radio and television, of which he was an ardent supporter.
