Florence Gaetana Shahrigian, of South Lyon: (nee Fierimonte)  Age 86. 

Beloved wife of Araz for 64 years. Daughter of the late Pasquale and Dora Fierimonte. Daughter in law of Hrant and Sona Shahrigian. Loving mother of Christine (Greg) Krikorian and David (Kristen).  Proud grandmother of Shant, Gyaneh (Cam), Armen (Nat), Seran, Haig Krikorian and Armen, Taleen (Jordan), Aram, Tamar Shahrigian and great grandma of Eliana, Jack, and Cole. Survived by sister Lydia (Jack) Fleming, brother Anthony (Annie) Fierimonte, and brother in laws Raffi (Emily) and Varaz (Mary)

Florence was born in Detroit and raised in a traditional Italian family and had a wonderful childhood where she excelled as a flutist.  When she married her husband she joined St. Sarkis Armenian church where she worked for over 35 years as the secretary.  She was quickly embraced by the close knit Armenian community and was such a fixture there that most thought she was actually Armenian.  Florence was a devoted and unselfish mother who never cared for material things but only to give everything she could for her family.  She found good in everyone and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Florence was loved and adored by the entire Armenian community from coast to coast. She may have been born Italian but she leaves this world as an "Armenian."  We want to thank the entire Armenian Community and beyond for embracing and loving Florence till the end. 

Visitation Saturday, February 22, 2025 at St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church form 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Florence's funeral will begin at 6:00 p.m.  Private family burial.  In lieu of flowers can be made to St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church.
