Greg passed away peacefully on December 15th, 2025, at the age of 74.
Devoted husband of Anita, who he had shared 46 years of marriage with.
Loving father of Raffi (Danielle), Marissa, and Gregory.
Cherished grandpa of Eden and Henry.
Dear brother of Gloria.
Beloved son of the late John and Hermina.
Greg will also be missed by his cousins, dearest friends, and those who knew and loved him.
Greg was raised on Mendota Street in Detroit, Michigan during the 1950s, a time when the neighborhood was rich with Armenian families, some of whom became lifelong friends.
He graduated from Cass Technical High School and went on to Michigan State University for college, and then eventually Thomas M. Cooley Law School to obtain his law degree.
Greg lost both of his parents at a young age and began working many different jobs to help support himself. He worked at Hudson’s clothing store, began modeling for their catalogs, and worked in restaurants - a business he was familiar with after seeing his father run The Peter Pan Pub near the University of Detroit campus for many years.
While he was studying for the bar exam, he took a part time position selling medical equipment. A job originally intended to help pay the bills, but it turned into much more than that.
In 1980, Greg partnered with his closest friend, Greg Jamian, to found the Sun Medical Equipment Company in Royal Oak, Michigan. The company continues to operate successfully today.
He met Anita in 1977 and forever his life changed. Their love and partnership, while raising children, building businesses, and cherishing close relationships with family and friends is the legacy Greg is most proud to leave behind.
Known as the guy with the biggest heart, Greg was bright and curious. He could talk to anyone, and he did. He loved spending time with dear friends, listening to Motown music, being an active participant in the Armenian community, and loyally watching the Lions every Sunday while saying at the tv “they stink!” … until recently.
He found joy in watching comedy, learning about photography, and he always had a magic trick or two up his sleeve. Regularly initiated by Greg, music and sports were constant hums in the Boyajian house. He often took his kids to sporting events and never turned down a chance to drive to East Lansing to cheer on his Spartans.
But, most of all he loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and he cherished the time he got to spend with his entire family and his close friends, who were like family.
Visitation Friday, December 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Armenian Church in Southfield, Michigan. Greg’s funeral will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Burial Service to take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Birmingham.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. John Armenian Church or The Fuller Center for Housing Armenia.
