Helen Koharig Juliette Karibian, beloved wife of the late Adam Karibian, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, with her family by her side. She was the cherished and loving mother of the late Dominique (Max) Lark, Maria (Larry) Suarez, Anjell (Craig) Bruck, and Adam (Kimmy) Karibian. Most loving and wonderful grandmother of Bianca, Adam, Remi, Juliette, Lucien, and Gabrielle. Loving daughter of the late Nishan and Lucine Darboian.  Dear sister of Agnes and the late George Thompson, the late Mitchell Darboian, George and the late Babe Darboian and sister- in- law of Albert and the late Delores Karibian, and Vahan and Denise Karibian. She also cherished and loved dearly her many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

With the passing of her husband more than 39 years ago, Helen became the matriarch of her young family. Through love, strength, and wisdom beyond her years, she raised her children from adolescence to adulthood. She had unmistakable pride and admiration for them. Helen has left an indelible mark on many, but nothing compared to the love and devotion she had for her family, her greatest gift of all.

Helen will forever be missed, loved, and honored by her family, friends, and those who knew her.

Visitation Monday, December 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at St. John Armenian Church 22001 Northwestern Highway, Southfield.

A 12:00 p.m. Graveside Burial Service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to St. John Armenian Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of donor’s choice.
