James T. Racine

James T. Racine, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

James was born on April 10, 1934 to James and Edna (DeMann) Racine.  James  graduated from the University of Detroit in 1957. Two weeks later, he married the love of his life Karen Bourgeois.  James served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force before a 34 year career as an Electrical Engineer at Detroit Edison.

James sang in the parish choirs at Divine Child in Dearborn and St. Patrick’s in Sarasota.  James served on the national board of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation from 1976-1982. In retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at God’s Helping Hands in Remus, MI. 

James and Karen celebrated 65 years of marriage in May, 2022.

James is predeceased by his parents, James O. And Edna Racine, and baby granddaughter, Erin.  He is survived by four children; Barbara (Tod) More of Grand Rapids, James M. Racine of Howell, Marianne Buxton of Holt, and Carol (Scott) Bogner of Hillsborough, NC. James is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

On Wednesday, June 29,2022, visitation will be held at 11:30 at The Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn, followed by a 12:30 Mass.
