Mary Nalbandian, 97, passed away peacefully in Birmingham, Michigan on August 15, 2019.

The daughter of Armenian immigrants, Mary was born on August 19, 1921 in Chelsea, Massachusetts to Takoohy and Avedis Musserian. She spent most of her formative years in Saco, Maine along with her three siblings, Elizabeth Musserian Allee (Albert), Agnes Musserian and John Musserian (Claire), all of whom have passed before her. In 1950, she married Richard Nalbandian (deceased) and made Detroit her home. Together they raised their two beloved children, Charles and Beverly (Mark). She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Julia, Charlie and Christina and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family whom she held near and dear to her heart. While raising her children, she ran the Penobscot Travel Agency for many years until she ultimately retired in 1997. A woman of grace and elegance, she loved playing bridge, was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan and enjoyed the theatre and art.

Mary will be remembered as a warm, loving and generous person who never sought the limelight and touched people in ways she never realized. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends St. John Armenian Church, Southfield, MI on Saturday, September 7 from 9:30am until the time of her funeral service at 11:00am.
