Nevart (Tufenkjian) Euzian Obituary

Beloved wife of the late Krikor Euzian.

Loving mother of Arda Euzian-Eurdekian and mother-in-law of Raffi Eurdekian.

Cherished grandmother of Karine, Sophie, Ariana and Matthew Eurdekian.

Dear sister of Garabed Tufenkjian, Souren Tufenkjian, Azniv Tufenkjian-Demirjian, Zaroug Tufenkjian-Basmadjian , Zaven Tufenkjian, Nerses Tufenkjian, Yervant Tufenkjian, Arpine Tufenkjian-Bedrossian.

Nevart was pre-decease by her parents Nazareth Tufenkjian and Alice Libarian Tufenkian.

Nevart will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Nevart was a child of a genocide survivor. She was born in Syria, later moved to Lebanon, and then the U.S. As an older sibling in a big family, she always took care of those around her. She spent her young adult years helping raise her siblings, going to school, attending community events, and working as a laboratory manager.

Nevart was the matriarch of her family. She taught her daughter and grandchildren all of her talents. She taught them how to make the most delicious rose jam, choreg, and savory manti—her secret ingredient was love. In addition to her expert cooking and baking skills, she was an entrepreneur, a choir singer, a storyteller, a seamstress, and a beloved community member. Nevart loved giving back to her community; she was a member of the Red Cross Syria and the ARS Tzolig Chapter of Detroit.

Nevart was a pillar in the Armenian community. She went out of her way to show her kindness and generosity to those she knew. She was smart, kind, brave, resilient, talented, and caring. She loved intensely and genuinely, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family and friends.
