Rita Dilanian, 77
Rita passed away after a lengthy illness. Dear daughter of the late Edward and Bartavoohi Dilanian and loving sister of the late Seta Dilanian. Rita will be missed by the Benian, Garbooshian, Saboonjian, Hamparian, Javizian, Derbabian, Abajian, Mayian and Ohnikian families and her friends. Rita spent her career working in the local newspapers, retiring to make time for her passion, which was serving the Armenian Community. She dedicated much of her life to serving others and making the Metro Detroit Armenian community a better place. She was a person of immense generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand and provide support for those around them.
In 1988, she worked tirelessly with the press, to provide coverage for the earthquake in Armenia. From running fundraisers to benefit the local ARS, serving on many April 24th committees, and organizing book and author events. She was a devoted member of the ARS, a hamager of the ARF, a strong activist of the Armenian National Committee of America and carried the Armenian Spirit in her throughout her life.
She will be missed my many.
