Srpoohi Javizian

Srpoohi Javizian was born on October 7, 1935 to the parents of Hovannes and Arousiag Antoyan in Aleppo, Syria. At the age of 24, Srpoohi migrated to Boston, Massachusetts and worked for the Armenian Weekly newspaper as a writer. After some time, she moved to Detroit, Michigan where she met and married her late husband John B. Javizian with whom they had their son John Javizian. Srpoohi worked most of her life as an extremely talented seamstress and was highly sought after for her talents. She enjoyed spending time with her son, baking, working in the garden, and spending time with family. Srpoohi will be remembered for her unforgettable kind heart and her devotion to her family. She is survived by her loving son John Javizian (Anita Emirian), her brother Hagop (Sara) Antoyan, her sister Vanoohi (the late Michael) Kojoian, and her sister Shakay (Nerses) Tufenkjian. She will be missed by her numerous nephews and nieces and their families.  

Visitation Thursday, January 12, 2023 at St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church from 10:30 a.m. to 12;00 p.m.  Her funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. and burial service to follow at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Novi. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church.
